THE PRODUCTION DESIGN PROCESS

Slide1
YOUR AMAZING IDEA

Great projects start with a great vision. We at D. C. Hibbs love helping visionary clients take their napkin sketch and turn it into buildable reality. And did we mention that we love constraints? From the very beginning of the design process we will help you identify and fit your vision within your parameters, whether they be budget, schedule, spatial, operational, or technological. We deliver something both achievable and compelling. With consensus achieved, your idea can then move into our rigorous production design process.

Slide2
DESIGN DOCUMENTATION

Our versatile designers translate your concept into detailed show set and art direction drawing packages. These drawing packages document the design intent in dimensional reality, making sure that critical details are accounted for and coordinated with all the involved disciplines.

Slide3
DETAILED DESIGN

Throughout the drawing process, our designers collaborate with your technical, architectural, and construction teams to ensure that critical items are properly coordinated into the show early on. This ensures each item is accounted for, both physically in the space and in your vendors' scopes, to make sure every piece comes together properly in the field.

Slide4
ART DIRECTION

Our diligent production designers will chase artistic details throughout the process, assuring that they translate into reality in a way that maintains your vision. We will provide material specifications, develop material sample programs, and review the work of your contractors and specialty vendors.

Slide5
FABRICATION MANAGEMENT

Once drawing packages are handed off to vendors, our staff will ensure a quality product is achieved by performing shop drawing reviews, material approvals, shop visits, and final buyoffs.

Slide6
SITE SUPERVISION

The D. C. Hibbs team is experienced in field art direction and installation supervision. We will work with your contractors and install teams to make sure that your creation comes together successfully in the field.

Slide7
TURNOVER

Your vision has become reality! Leading up to opening day, our team can assist with commissioning and turnover of the finished show. Thanks to our exhaustive process, documentation for your maintenance staff is clear and thorough.
